A Lato equipped in each hand. Twice the clip size and fire rate, but reload time is doubled and accuracy is lowered.

The Aklato is a dual wield version of the single Lato, which features a higher fire rate and magazine size, while having lower critical potential and accuracy. is also lowered so that can be increased.

This weapon can be sold for 5,000 Credits 5,000.

Characteristics

This weapon deals primarily damage.

Advantages:

• Low recoil, making it easy to aim fast follow up shots. 
• Good fire rate.

Disadvantages:

• Generally low damage.
  • Deals less and damage – less effective against Shielded and armored enemies. 
  • Deals less impact damage than the normal Lato.
• Poor accuracy at mid-long range.
• Low critical chance.
• Very low status chance.

Tips

• The higher firerate may be comfortably made use of by PC players by making an alternative weapon fire keybind on downward mousewheel scroll. It must be noted, however, that scrolling the wheel too fast causes oversampling, having the weapon fire not as fast as it could.

Trivia

• Previously, Aklato used the same icon and in-game model as Akbolto. It was changed several patches later.
• It can be noted that for some users Aklato appears to land shots near the top of the reticle.
• As with other dual pistols, wielding the Aklato while holding a Corpus datamass will result in the Warframe wielding a single pistol, but with retained magazine size and reload time.
• Players who purchase platinum through Rixty will receive a free Aklato, along with a unique, Rixty-only skin with a free Orokin Catalyst installed.
• The name is likely derived from "akimbo" and "Lato."
• In the eight minute Dark Sector trailer, in which the game was much more like Warframe than the final product was, an Excalibur-wearing Hayden Tenno used Aklato pistols.
• The Aklato and Lato have undergone several changes over the games lifespan. Some changes would make the weapons deal the same amount of damage, and others would completely change them. Currently, they deal the same base damage but their damage types are slightly switched around, with lower impact and higher slash damage.

Update 16.5 (2015-05-12)

• AkLato damage decreased in PvP.

Update 15.16 (2015-02-25)

• Increased the Base Damage on Aklato from 12 to 18.

Hotfix 14.0.11 (2014-07-30)

• Reduced the damage multipliers across multiple weapons in an effort to provide a more balanced playing field across all weapons:
  • Damage multiplier for Aklato normalized.

Update 8.3 (2013-07-04)

• Sound changes.

Update 7.11 (2013-05-17)

• Aklato price increased to 25,000 credits (was 12,000 credits).
