Nightmare Mode Mods

Nightmare Mode Mods are dual stat mods added in Update 9.0 along with Nightmare Mode. Currently the following Mods can only be gained by playing in Nightmare Mode (Now are Alerts). These mods are generally weaker than their single counterparts, but they can stack. For example, Accelerated Blast can stack with Shotgun Spazz and Flechette to give 150% Fire Rate and 90% Puncture Damage respectively.

Update 9.5 introduced 3 new Nightmare mode mods (Shred, Vigor, and Lethal Torrent) as rewards for the weekend event Arid Fear. These were later added to regular Nightmare mode missions as rewards.

During the Nightmare Weekend event (August 23. - 26. 2013), the 10 original Nightmare mode mods were also rewarded from special Alerts with a mission description of "Nightmare Mod Located".

Vigor, Shred and Lethal Torrent differ from the original 10 Nightmare Mods, by having 5 mod ranks instead of 3. This also applies to the newest mods; Armored Agility, Animal Instinct and Seeking Fury.

Trivia

• Briefly, between Update 12 and Update 12.1, Nightmare mods could be obtained from Interception missions. This was unintended, and has since been patched out.
