Notes[]

  • Drifting Contact is additive with similar mods. For example, a Galatine Galatine with a max rank Drifting Contact and Mod TT 20px Melee Prowess will have a 20% × (1 + 40% + 90%) = 46% status chance.
  • Obtained from medium Nightmare Missions, which can be found on Phobos, Jupiter, Saturn, Void, Lua, Europa, Ceres and Kuva Fortress.
  • At max rank, Drifting Contact increases the total melee combo counter time to 15 seconds.
    • Combined with Mod TT 20px Body Count and Mod TT 20px Gladiator Rush, the counter time is increased to 33 seconds.
    • With "Power Spike" (Naramon Focus node) the Melee Combo Counter decreases by a certain amount (at Rank 1, 20) each time that the Counter would run out. So, with a maxed Drifting Contact, it decreases the Counter every 13 seconds. Without mods, the Counter gets decreased every 3 seconds.
  • Can be stacked with Mod TT 20px Melee Prowess, Mod TT 20px Volcanic Edge, Mod TT 20px Vicious Frost, Mod TT 20px Voltaic Strike and Mod TT 20px Virulent Scourge for a total of 295% increase in Status Chance. On weapons with at least 26% base Status Chance, this allows them to achieve a total Status Chance value of 100%, allowing every strike to deal Status Effect proc. On weapons with 27% base Status Chance Mod TT 20px Melee Prowess is no longer needed to achieve the 100% Status Chance value.
    • Mod TT 20px Weeping Wounds can further increase the Status Chance depending on the Melee Combo Counter.
  • Works well with other mods affecting Melee Combos like Mod TT 20px Weeping Wounds, Mod TT 20px Body Count, Mod TT 20px Gladiator Rush, Mod TT 20px Blood Rush, Mod TT 20px Rising Storm and Mod TT 20px Surging Dash.

Tips[]

  • Because Drifting Contact only requires 5 mod capacity points at max rank, it is a more useful and economical mod than Mod TT 20px Body Count for melee weapon builds that heavily rely on the combo counter for effectiveness, such as a damage and critical-based builds taking advantage of Mod TT 20px Blood Rush.
    • Combine with max-rank PrimaryDexterity Primary and SecondaryDexterity Secondary Dexterity to further extend combo duration by 30 seconds, especially if a player prefers focusing on melee combat.
