Who in the gaming business starts the new year off. By the first thing you do is nerf something (ONCE) again. That didn't need to be nerfed. The underlined problem in this game is the RNG system. And that it doesn't work and never will. Because too many items exist in the table.
My suggestion is take mods and gear out of RNG's hands. And make them governed by a merit system or unlock system. For example make it so say if you must run a dungeon. After a certain amount of time say 30 times. A modifier starts that automatically raises your chance at rare items.
This would not make you highly likely to get said item you are chasing. And on top of the modifier make it so now. Because of your dedication to the cause. Lotus gives you a buff that you now get two items from the list instead of one. But this is only after you have persevered in a certain Void mission. Meaning you've been in there too god damn long. And you deserve it now.
I would also do to the weapons what was done to the frames. Get rid of mods as drops. And make it so as you level up a weapon mods unlock for it. Once you max the weapon you can then prestige it. Which you can then go and unlock stronger mods. And special items weapon specific. You can also put these unlockables in the rep stores to replace the mods.
This also speaks towards no matter what weapons we have come out. It's still always the same mods we use. So really the premise of choice right now is a lie. Because if it's a rifle it's always going to be the same mods IE only maybe 2 different. That isn't choice it's a fallacy of it. Removing mods and having weapons having their own specific unlocks. And things you can work for at your own choosing. Would give back the freedom of creation. And give DE a place to actually make the weapons different.
Which if anyone hasn't notice has happen to the frames. Now that the skills are hard wired there.
