Titania is a deadly and mischievous addition to any squad, but don't take my word for it Tenno.

The diminutive temptress Titania and her entourage of bladed butterflies scatter their dust to disorient, enchant and beckon foes to their doom. She fluttered in on August 19th, 2016 with Update: The Silver Grove (2016-08-19).

Acquisition

Titania's main and component blueprints are obtained from The Silver Grove quest. Additional blueprints can be bought from Cephalon Simaris; ReputationLarge 25,000 for component blueprints and ReputationLarge 50,000 for main blueprint.

Alternatively, upon completion of The Duviri Paradox, Titania's main and component blueprints can be earned from The Circuit. By selecting her on the rotating week she is available, players can earn her blueprints after reaching Tier 2 (Neuroptics), 5 (Chassis), 8 (Systems), and 10 (Main) rewards.

Titania. My shamed creation. I felt her beating wings through my branches. I felt her mortal wounds, her weeping burns as she fell beneath my canopy. And so it was here, within this grove, that she died to save me. Me, the one who had hated her most.

Silvana was an Orokin-era researcher from Earth who wished to save her dying planet. She was recruited by Margulis to assist in Transference research, but the dream in working with her childhood hero turned into a nightmare as Ballas warped the project into creating Warframes for the sole purpose of destruction. Thus, Titania was born, a killer made by a healer.

Hateful at her own creation, Silvana defected and stowed away on Earth-bound cargo, having stolen Apothics and slapdash Somatics with the intention to revive her planet. Seeding a mighty forest that would become the Silver Grove, Silvana then used her Transference knowledge to successfully and permanently bond with the forest itself.

When the Orokin found out of her defection, a battalion of Dax soldiers was dispatched to bring ruin to her forest. As the trees set ablaze, Silvana sensed a familiar presence: an unseen pixie that proceeded to slay the soldiers, Titania. The Warframe had given her own life to protect the woman who hated her the most.

In the present day, New Loka anoints the Silver Grove as their shrine. Desiring to protect the forest from Grineer, New Loka's leader Amaryn hires the Tenno to craft the Apothic given to them by the forest itself to awaken its ancient defenses. The Apothic blueprints also contain voice imprints of Silvana which details her logs, which horrifies Amaryn as she learns that the Silver Grove is not a pure sanctuary but an "Orokin poison". While anointing the Apothic, Silvana's disembodied voice awakens and initially mistakes the Tenno for an intruder until she gains enough clarity and sees them as a protector like Titania was. Amaryn, realizing that New Loka shares Silvana's ideals in spite of the Grove's artificial nature, sees that her syndicate change their dogmatic beliefs and swears that Titania will fly again.

Trivia

  • Titania is portrayed as Queen of the Fairies in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream, in which she is wife to Oberon, King of the Fairies. It is worth noting that while Oberon existed long before Shakespeare's play, Titania was created specifically for it.
  • Titania shares her name with a mission node on Uranus, which in turn corresponds to one of Uranus' moons in real life.
  • In Razorwing mode, the name of Titania's melee weapon is Diwata, which is a Filipino word that historically refers to spirits that reside in the forests, but in contemporary usage typically refers to fairies or elves.
    • Titania's dual pistols, Dex Pixia, could be based on Pixies, small, fairy-like mythical creatures.
  • Throughout The Silver Grove and promotional materials, Titania's name is pronounced "Tie-TAY-nia" (/taɪˈteɪniə/, the same pronunciation as the chemical substance Titania) as opposed to its Shakespearean pronunciation "Tih-TAN-ya" (/tɪˈtɑːniə/), which is deemed the correct pronunciation by the Oxford dictionary.
  • Titania's alternate helmet Mab refers to William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, in which Mercutio speaks of Queen Mab, a fairy that enchants humans with dreams of their greatest desires.
  • Titania was the first Warframe that required Tellurium Tellurium to build.
  • Titania was the second known Warframe to actually fight and kill the Dax: Orokin soldiers; the first being InarosIcon272 Inaros.
  • Titania was created by Silvana, an Archimedean prominent in The Silver Grove, who was originally recruited by Margulis to help with Transference therapy.
    • Titania is the second frame to have a known creator, after SarynIcon272 Saryn (also see Ballas Quote).
  • The Lotus' final remark of "but don't take my word for it, Tenno" in the intro video is a reference to Reading Rainbow, in which the host LeVar Burton would use the line as a catchphrase near the end of each episode.
  • Titania is the only Warframe to have two Exalted Weapons, while others have only one.
  • Titania was the first Warframe that could go airborne via a channeled ability, Razorwing130xWhite Razorwing, followed by HildrynIcon272 Hildryn.
    • Prior to Hotfix 24.5.5 (2019-03-25), channeling Razorwing was not considered by the game to be properly airborne and could not benefit from Mod TT 20px Agility Drift or Mod TT 20px Aviator.
  • True to her theme as a nimble faerie, Titania is a notably short Warframe, her otherwise imposing form helped by her ability to remain afloat with her signature animation sets.

  • Fitting with her fairy theme, Titania Prime floats above ground when walking and sprinting. This trait is not present in her original, non-primed variant.

Passive

Frolicking and fluttering about, TitaniaIcon272 Titania passively possesses +25% Bullet Jump and Rolling distance. Casting her abilities rejuvenates Titania and her allies within 15 meters, granting them the Upsurge buff which regenerates 4 Health points per second for 20 seconds.

  • Passive values are not affected by Mods.
  • Upsurge is granted at the start of Titania’s cast animations, even if her abilities don’t hit their targets.
    • The duration of the heal is refreshed on successive ability casts.
  • Upsurge buff icon is displayed with a duration timer next to the shield and health indicators, at the top-right of the HUD.
    • An icon also appears next to each allied player affected by Upsurge.
  • Affected allies includes all Warframes, Companions, Eidolon Lures, summoned allied units such as Specters, allied Invasion units, Hostages, Kavor Defectors, Sortie and Arbitrations Defense Operatives, and Defense Objects.

Base vs Final Stats in Modding - Health / Energy / Shield / Armor Stat Overhaul

If you’ve spent any time invested in the deeper nuances of Modding, you may be familiar with “Warframe Math” - math that upon first glance doesn’t really make sense, but once you learn the inner workings of the game, it all comes together. While we can appreciate the value that complex systems offer to a certain subsect of players, there are other aspects of the game that should have clear and understandable outcomes. Namely: Shield, Health, Energy, and Armor Modding.

Pop quiz: what is 300 + 440%? If you answered 740, you may just be an Excalibur player.

Vitality (+440% Heath), Redirection (+440% Shields), Flow (+150% Energy), and Steel Fiber (+110% Armor) come with large modifier values that don’t seem to match their outcome in-game. This is because these Mods apply their multiplier to the base stats of the Warframe - i.e., the stats you have at Rank 0. In the Excalibur example, a Rank 30 Excalibur’s Health stat of 300 earns an additional 440 Health from max rank Vitality (+440% Heath) since it applies to his base rank Health stat of 100, resulting in 740 total health.

In this update, we have removed this obfuscation by having Health, Shield, Energy, and Armor Mods apply to the stats of Warframes at their current rank. Continuing our Excalibur example, instead of Vitality always applying to Excalibur’s base rank 100 Health, it would apply to his Health stat based on his rank - namely, the stat you can actually see in your Arsenal. If your Excalibur were Rank 30, his Health stat would be 300, which means Vitality’s multiplier would be calculated off of 300.

With previous Health and Mod values, additional adjustments are needed to make this revision work while maintaining game balance. By only changing where the multiplier applies, a Rank 30 Excalibur would receive an extra 1,320 Health from max rank Vitality, resulting in a total health stat of 1,600. This outcome is a significant buff, which is not the intention of this system change.

To remedy this, we approached this problem in two ways:

1 - We reduced the overall multiplier for Health, Shield, Energy, and Armor Mods.
Since these now affect Max Rank Warframe stats, these Mods need to scale differently to maintain the status quo. Additionally, we wanted these new values to be as clear and understandable to all players as possible! Here are a few examples of these value changes:

  • Vitality: Reduced from +440% to +100% Health
  • Redirection: Reduced from +440% to +100% Shield Capacity
  • Steel Fiber: Reduced from +110% to +100% Armor
  • Flow: Reduced from +150% to +100% Energy Max

Note: These are not all of the Mods affected by this change. We share the comprehensive list further down in this section of the update notes.

Doing some quick math, this means that a Rank 30 Excalibur (300 Health) with a reworked Vitality Mod (+100% Health, applied to the final Health stat) would receive 300 extra Health, for a total of 600. That, in contrast, is a nerf, which we also don’t want to do.

So, our next step:

2 - We adjusted Warframe Health, Shield, Energy, and Armor values to keep the end result of the revised Mods as close to the original values as possible.

With this change, Excalibur’s Rank 30 Health stat is 370. With +100% Health from a max Vitality Mod, his resulting Health stat would be 740, which matches what it was originally.

While this path to the same result may seem a little complicated, the outcome matches our intention: we want players to be able to look at their Health, Shield, and Armor Mods, and be able to understand how they affect the stats they see in their Arsenal.

In addition to everything above, we also increased the base stat values for Warframes so that these revised Mods offer similar value for lower-ranked Frames. To do so, we reduced the amount of Health/Shield/Energy that Warframes earn per rank in half, and transferred the sum of that value to their base stats.

For Armor, this is the one stat that does not increase with your Warframe’s level (with some exceptions). Armor values across the board have been slightly increased to compensate for the Mod changes.

Not to beat a dead Kaithe, but Mods will now be applying to the Max Rank stat instead of the Base Rank. You may look at these numbers and think “nerf” or “buff” depending, but the outcome is that total Modded values are the same, if not a little higher in some cases.

While there may be significant changes to Warframe Stats and Mod values as a part of this overhaul, the end result is that your Builds should mostly stay the same. The key difference is the added clarity of what your Health / Shield / Energy / Armor Mods do in your Upgrade screens!

General Fixes:
  • Fixed Titania in Razorwing not rotating to match the direction players are facing when using Transference to swap between Warframe and Operator.
  • Fixed a map hole in the Orokin Void tileset, just big enough for a Razorwing Titania to fly through.

WARFRAME AUGMENT BUFFS - PART 3 (FINAL)

In the Veilbreaker and Nora’s Mix Vol 1 updates, we buffed a number of underused Warframe Augments (from Ash to Oberon). This third and final batch of buffs tackles Warframe Augments from Saryn to Zephyr. We have increased their viability in missions, which we hope will encourage more build diversity.

*Stats below are all at Max Rank.

TITANIA
Spellbound Harvest

  • Was: Hitting at least 4 enemies with Spellbind will grant Titania 50 Energy.
  • Changes:
    • Successfully hitting at least 4 enemies also adds 40% more range on the next cast of Spellbind.

Beguiling Lantern

  • Was: Attracted enemies take 100% more melee damage.
  • Changes:
    • The 100% damage bonus now applies to all weapons (including Titania’s Dex Pixia and Diwata) and scales with Ability Strength.
Fixes:
  • Fixed Titania in Razorwing being able to enter into large structures in the Plains of Eidolon.
  • Fixed Titania in Razorwing being able to fly under a walkway in the Infested Ship tileset and losing all function.

  • Fixed enemies instantly dying when casting Mag’s Pull on enemies that are affected by Titania’s Spellbind.
  • Fixed magazine capacity from Mods reverting when turning Titania’s Razorwing on and off.

NEW WARFRAME DISABLE AUGMENTS (Max Rank)

Not everyone desires the Passive attributes that Titania bring, but still want to use them in battle. With these new Augments you can now rid yourself of their attributes and bring them to a more grounded version.

Titania: Ironclad Flight
Disable vacuum in Razorwing. Reduced damage by 40% while airborne.

Optimizations
  • Further performance improvements towards Titania’s Lantern when cast on a large group of enemies. This particularly affected systems set to Low Particle Quality.
Titania Changes & Fixes:
  • Titania has a new Passive: Titania generates Health for herself and nearby Allies every time she casts an Ability (4hp/second for 20 seconds)! The personal Titania Parkour Boost is staying, just the communal Trampoline isn't.
  • Titania can now use Blink while in her Razorwing ability!
  • Fixed casting Titania’s Razorwing right as you fall into a teleport volume in the Simulacrum resulting in an infinite white screen.

Titania Changes
  • Spellbind: Hold Titania’s Spellbind to cast Status Immunity on yourself. Previously you had to cast it while looking at the ground to accomplish this!
  • Tribute: You can now select which Tribute to cast, by cycling through the different buffs like Ivara’s arrows, or Vauban’s Minelayer.
  • Lantern: Lanterns are now locked in place, allowing for more easily-controlled CC.
  • Razorwing has a new FX upgrade!
  • Razorwing flight model has been brought more in line with Skywing controls.
Armor Change
  • Titania: 65 to 100

Why: The conversation surrounding Arcane Guardian led to a significant review of Armor stats on Warfarmes. The Majority of Warframes received an increase in the Armor stat to increase survivability. Compounded with Shield Gating and the numerous other changes covered, we expect a much more fair feeling playing field for all Warframes.

  • Optimized the effects on Titania's Lantern ability to improve performance.

Tribute:

    • Dust - keep as-is: it reduces enemy accuracy by 50%!

Warframes with unique Ability-driven (Exalted) Weapons can now be separately Modded in your Arsenal! This includes the ability to customize their appearance too!

If you own any of the following Warframes, their “Exalted” Weapon have been added to your Arsenal:

  • Titania’s Dex Pixia + Diwata

Exalted Weapons work in the following ways:

  • They appear in your Arsenal as an unranked moddable Weapon option once you’ve unlocked the Ability.
  • All Exalted weapons use the Mod classes expected for the class of weapon.
  • Melee Exalted Weapons have their Stance Mod permanently displayed in the modding UI with access to Combos!
  • Titania’s Dex Pixia now uses Secondary Mods! More on that in the Titania Exalted Weapons Dev Workshop we posted at the beginning of this week.
  • While Exalted Weapons can be ranked, they do not count towards Mastery Rank (with the exception of Khora’s Venari).
  • Riven Mods are not generated for Exalted Weapons.
