Desired by advanced players, Loki offers a variety of specialized reconfiguring abilities. The creativity of Loki's powers allows players to master the battlefield through manipulation.

Loki is a fragile but fast manipulator Warframe. He has little in the way of direct damage abilities, instead focusing on the arts of distraction, deception, sabotage, relocation and stealth.

TriviaEdit

  • His name is drawn from the Norse god Loki, who was generally seen as a mischievous, sly trickster. The Loki Warframe has abilities that further strengthen this connection, as Loki is able to turn invisible and create decoys of himself, amongst other abilities.
  • Loki's Switch Teleport ability can be cast on other players; this was originally a bug, This was mentioned by DE_Steve on "WARFRAME Dev Diary #2: The Warframes", stating "We kept getting QA bugs for it, which are like, Oh you can use Switch Teleport on another player, you should fix that".Source
    • For a while during Closed Beta, Switch Teleport could be used on the Defense cryopod, allowing players to move it across the map or into significantly more defensible and advantageous positions - including locations the AI (especially for the Infested at the time) could not reach. This was ultimately fixed in Update 5.4.
  • Prior to Update 14, Loki was one of the three starting Warframes, along with Excalibur and Mag, before being replaced by Volt.
  • Currently one of two frames that has three alternate helmets. The other being Nova.

NotesEdit

  • Loki Prime is the second Prime Warframe after Excalibur Prime to have two additional polarity slots instead of just one, adding a second D and a Bar polarity.
  • On the current release version, Loki Prime is one of the Primes that has increased stats over the non-Prime counterpart, having 175 power with the former having 150 power only. This gives Loki Prime the highest maximum energy pool of any frame, with 262.5 at rank 30. This can be increased to 525 with a maxed Flow.

TriviaEdit

  • The sixth Prime Warframe to be released, Loki Prime is also the third to have the Orokin white and gold default color scheme after Excalibur Prime and Mag Prime. Incidentally, all three Warframes were the starting Warframe options for new players, Loki having now been replaced with Volt.
  • Loki Prime currently has the most notable changes to its physical appearance over its standard version, including larger and thicker thighs, blade-like protrusions on its elbows, and the addition of a larger backpack with spikes.
  • Loki Prime's Decoy uses a Lex Prime instead of a Lato like the standard version, making it the third ability to be modified for the Prime version.

  • Loki creates a holographic decoy that draws enemy fire when deployed. With 400 Shields and 200 Health, the decoy will last for a maximum of 7 / 15 / 20 / 25 seconds.
    • Decoy's shield capacity and total health are not affected by Power Strength.
    • Wielding a Lato (Lex Prime in Loki Prime's case), the decoy is capable of inflicting an Impact b Impact proc that can stagger enemies, a Puncture b Puncture proc that reduces the damage of the target's attacks by 30% for 6 seconds, and a Slash b Slash proc that deals a minuscule 1 damage per tick.
    • Aside from the mentioned status effects, the decoy's shots do not inflict damage.
    • Decoy duration is affected by Power Duration.
    • Deploying a decoy while one is already active will remove the previous decoy from the field.
    • If enough damage is done to the decoy, it will collapse and disappear.
  • If aimed at a ceiling or the sky, the decoy will appear directly below the aimed point, allowing it to be placed in higher platforms.
  • If placed in a position where enemies cannot reach:
    • Within a few seconds Infested enemies will swap their aggro to another target.
    • Grineer and Corpus enemies will keep trying to aim at the Decoy until it disappears even if they cannot see or hit it, making it extremely effective if placed in good cover against enemy fire.
  • Decoy has a tendency to fall through certain props on the map. This means a decoy can be placed on top of something, for example: a pillar, and it will sometimes fall through it, being protected from within the prop.
  • Decoy's shields regenerate over time.
  • Has a cast time of ~0.6 seconds.

  • Enemies will focus on the decoy if it is deployed closer to them than Loki is, allowing Loki to deal heavy damage or escape an area without being targeted.
  • Decoy's life does not increase at higher levels or with Power Strength, making it very weak at high levels if not placed in cover.
  • You can use Decoy in conjunction with Switch Teleport to switch positions with your decoys, essentially allowing a freely-targetable teleportation to any point where you can place a Decoy (which functions like Nova's Worm Hole).
  • The hologram blocks lasers from laser barriers, allowing passage through when deployed directly on top of them (as they only emit from one side).
  • Decoy can be used as means to find or lure out hiding enemies.
    • The copy will only start firing its Lato if there is an enemy close enough to be attracted, but it will not stop firing once all affected enemies are dead. Keep this in mind when using Decoy to scout enemy locations.
  • Can also be used to open doors, which can be useful when the following area is full of Grineer or Corpus enemies, allowing the player to shoot them from a safer distance.

  • Loki camouflages himself and becomes untargetable for 5 / 7 / 9 / 12 seconds. While Loki's invisible, all sound effects are muffled and slightly muted. Loki's vision becomes blurry when he's not in motion, and his visual field becomes more sensitive to light.
  • Even though Loki is untargetable, enemies will continue to attack near his last known location, and will make attempts to retaliate when harmed.
  • Does not make Loki silent. Firing an unsuppressed weapon while under the effects of Invisibility will still alert nearby enemies to your presence.
  • Hides Loki from Security Cameras which prevents them from activating laser barriers.
  • Invisibility will also apply to any equipped companion.
  • Captain Vor's laser traps won't target players who are invisible, regardless of proximity.
  • Has a cast delay of 0.75 seconds.
  • Cannot be recast while active.
  • Conclave rating: 10 / 10 / 30 / 50.

  • Use as a way of reviving fallen players without having to worry about being downed yourself
  • Can be cast in mid-air, which can help you avoid getting gunned down by large crowds during the cast animation, which makes you stay put when used on the ground.
  • Changing Loki's energy color to "pure black" (very bottom left color in the Smoke Colors pack) will turn Loki completely invisible, meaning this color gets rid of the shimmering effect.
    • As this means you can't see yourself at all, this can make movement and placement for melee attacks more difficult.

  • Casting Invisibility will cause your Sentinel to be coated in an aura until Invisibility's duration ends.
    • This aura will be yellow regardless of energy color of both Loki and the Sentinel.

  • Loki swaps positions with a target within 25 / 40 / 60 / 75 meters, whether it be friendly or hostile. Switching positions with an enemy will cause it to become confused for a brief duration. The enemy will not attack until it reorients itself.
    • Cast range is affected by Power Range.
    • Confusion will not apply to boss-type enemies.
  • Grineer Commanders use a similar ability.
  • Has a cast time of 0.5 seconds.
  • Conclave rating: 10.

  • You can use Switch Teleport on enemies (including Bosses), teammates (only if the extraction is not available yet or nobody is at the extraction), or a decoy created by yourself (or any decoy created by a fellow Loki teammate).
  • Loki is also able to use Switch Teleport with Saryn's Molt ability.
  • You can easily move past a group of enemies by targeting the enemy furthest away, Switch teleporting, and then continuing to run.
  • Switch Teleport also works on downed allies, allowing the transportation of them to a safer area out of the way of enemies if necessary.

Lets forth a wave of energy, disrupting the projectile weapons of enemies in range and forcing them to revert to melee combat.

  • Loki releases a pulse of manipulative energy, temporarily stunning enemies while depleting/jamming their ranged weapons within a 10 / 13 / 17 / 20 meter radius. Affected enemies are permanently unable to use their ranged weapons and are forced into melee combat. The pulse inflicts 200 / 200 / 350 / 500 Impact b Impact damage to specific enemy units.
  • Chargers, Ancients, the Harvester, the Grustrag Three, and bosses cannot be disarmed.
  • Most other enemies will be permanently disarmed:
    • Permanently removes the arms of Infested Leapers, Runners, Volatile Runners, and Crawlers.
      • These units are still capable of moving, attacking, and using their abilities as normal.
    • Permanently forces Infested Mutalist Ospreys to the ground and removes their abilities.
    • Permanently forces Corpus Ospreys to the ground, removes their abilities, and depletes their weapon systems.
      • Oxium Ospreys cannot be forced to the ground and retain their abilities and weapons systems.
      • Does not remove Shield Ospreys' ability to shield allies.
    • Permanently depletes Corpus Crewmens' guns, forcing them to melee with Stun Batons.
    • Permanently depletes the weapon systems on MOAs, forcing them to melee with kicks.
    • Permanently jams Grineer firearms, forcing them to melee with Stun Batons.
  • Has no effect on Capture Targets or non-Infested enemies who are already classified as melee-oriented (e.g., Butchers, Guardsmen, and Scorpions).
  • Has a cast time of 0.9 seconds and delay between uses of 0.9 seconds.
  • Conclave rating: 50 / 50 / 85 / 120.
  • Tenno in Conclave duels are affected as follows:
    • Drains all energy from the target. (There is currently a bug where the energy will sometimes not be drained from the target)
    • If the target has shields remaining then all shields are drained. If the target has no shields remaining then they take 200 / 200 / 350 / 500 Magnetic b Magnetic damage.
    • Temporarily applies Ancient Disruptor's visual effect on the HUD.
    • Prevents the target from firing any ranged weapon for 1–2 seconds. (This does NOT affect Glaive or Kestrel because they count as a melee weapon.)

  • This ability is very effective if used with a Vortex on a Defense mission.

  • It is possible to Switch Teleport with your Decoy to shortcut around the map, get out of tough spots or access higher vantage points.
  • Due to the nature of his powers, mods such as Power Duration and Streamline can be extremely useful in extending the duration of powers (such as Decoy and Invisibility) and lowering their power cost.
  • Loki is the fastest Warframe by a very noticeable margin, and this allows him to move avoid or deal damage in battles extremely quickly.
  • Although he has weaker shields in general combat, the damage Loki deals while invisible is extremely high and his other abilities can manipulate entire crowds of enemies to make use of this effect.
  • Loki's Decoy can be placed in positions other players cannot get to, such as in between two closely packed crates. Because of this trait, the Decoy is effectively protected from most directions of fire. This helps in increasing the Decoy's life span while also potentially distracting an entire wave of enemies. Along with Decoy's high aggro priority towards enemies, Loki can make most Defense missions much easier to handle depending on the map and the location of the Decoy's placement.
  • Decoy with Switch Teleport can be used to get through Corpus laser doors, though its more cost effective to use the Decoy to block the beams, allowing yourself or your team through as well.
  • Switch Teleport can be useful to move your team mates to a better position or the extraction point. Also, you can switch with wounded allies, making it easier for someone to revive them.
  • Decoy is also great against Infested, as the Infested will crowd around the decoy.  It also helps to get rid of Runners due to the their nature.
  • Decoy can be used to great effect against Infested, especially because Infested maps often include pits.  Deploy the decoy at the bottom of a chasm, and the Infested will leap into the chasm after it, dying instantly.  This will, however, forfeit any loot.
  • Combining Invisibility with a Shotgun will allow you to get close and deliver devastating damage to unsuspecting foes.
  • Switch Teleport can also be used to effectively immobilize bosses, by getting into a tight spot then switching with them.
  • Be extremely careful using Loki in pitched combat. Loki is the least durable Warframe by a noticeable margin. If he is left without energy, he becomes incredibly easy to kill.
  • Radial Disarm is capable of removing any buff/debuff from a Leader (Fire/Cold animation is still there but does nothing, Energy/Health is not drained, other units are not given a buff.

Loki's Decoy PistolEdit

The Pistol used by Loki's Decoy power has the same skin as a regular Lato. It will "fire" like a regular lato in the direction of the nearest enemy to the decoy but will do no damage and will not shoot any projectile, It is hypothesized that the shooting animation is to emphasize the aggro effect of the decoy itself.

BugsEdit

  • When in a cell, excessive lag can cause a dying decoy to become a corpse before actual removal for its duration.
  • A set of videos is provided with a respected number that shows some of the bugs encountered with Loki:
  1. Decoy + position swap in a wall = Fall to nothing
  2. Decoy in extermination missions, will lower the enemy count by one when the decoy expires
  3. Decoy in defense missions, will stall the timer after all enemies have been defeated.
  4. There is also a "cannot be used in air" bug where the server thinks Loki is in the air even if he isn't.  Hitting the melee key will fix this.
