Here's my 10 cents on the frames I find good when it comes to support.. Part 1
Banshee:
Pretty great offensive frame to me, a great stealth frame that doesn't really use the stealth we know and love like Loki or Ash. Her Sonic Boom has a low cost, deals some damage, but best of all knocks downs enemies in a large cone. Pretty great for taking the heat off you and your teammates in the heat or battle, or when trying to run.
When damage or falling, or just want to spend less bullets and time killing a(n) enem(y/ies), Sonar comes in to play. I don't need to explain what it does, but just in case I do, it pinpoints critical spots that inflicts extra damage when hit.
Next, there's Silence. Utterly great when you want to kill silently, whether just to kill without setting any alarms off to get by, or to dwindle their large numbers to make it easier on yourself and/or the team.
Lastly, Sound Quake. I find this to be really great when you have a team along, even better when the game is getting tough (long defence or survival). This skill staggers during its duration, allowing you to deal constant damage with the skill while your team and light up the helpless enemies tripping over your Dubstep swagger. The longer range and duration, the better, amirite?
Excalibur:
There isn't much I can say about this guy really. Not because I don't like him or anything negative, I've just played him the least. I can say hpwever is that the few times I played him was all I needed to know just how great Radial Blind really is.
In fact, I can honestly say that Radial Blind is one skill I wish Loki or Ash to compliment their steath melee bonus modifier (Do not rant at me for my opinions on this) .Radial Matter blinds enemies, throwing them right out of alert status and allowing for 4x the melee damage. Best of all, they won't use their primary weapons, and the duration stacks with Power Duration! This alone should tell you how it benefits the team. Heck, even on Solo I like to bring Excal around with a low level Melee weapon just because Radial Blind makes it easy to rank them up without consequence.
Frost:
Not a frame I'm very fond of in terms of skill set and movement speed, but he does make Infested defence a lot more bareable for me these days, even moreso when going all out with Melee. I find 3 of his 4 skills to be quite lackluster, mostly due to how DE made them. The 1 skill I don't think is lackluster? Snowglobe!
Snowglobe, the skill that made Frost the All-Star he is today. The Skill that was the main ingredients to getting the Bombs out of Vay Hek's clutches, it is one of the greatest defensive skills you can find around. It's basically what it's called, a Snowglobe, but large, and scales with Range and Power Strength. It protects those inside from damage, while those inside can deal damage to those outside. I find that to be a great support skill, and with manty uses. It even slows enemies inside, so nyah to all melee units.
Loki: So let's be honest, why is here on my list? Don't most Lokies we encounter just go invis and rush to the end, or hide somewhere and camp because they don't want to take a hit or deal a hit? Welp, I made some good Lokis, and I'm sure you have as well.
When a Defense Point or the team is under heavy fire of sustained plenty of damage, all hope may seem lst right? Napalm lighting you up and no way to escape, but then a Wild Decoy appears and takes /ALL/ the gunfire! ...For about 3 seconds, but 3 seconds is all a ninja should need to vanish or take out the trash. That totally realistice pistol weilding hologram is totally great for drawing attention, allowing you and your team to take down the oblivious enemies who are unaware that the Decoy is just taunting them with blanks.
And then there's Loki's shining support and utility skill, Radial Disarm. Let's not forget how pissed off Vay Hek was when every Grineer reported why they couldn't dtop the Tenno form taking his bombs, and lets all pretend Radial Disarm is why Grineer and Corpus alike fall victim to the Infested so damn easily. This skill takes all the guns, forcing everyone in to Melee mode. This in itself takes the heat off the team, and possibly the objective. This is also the biggest MUST HAVE in operations.
Mag:
My firtst frame since I joined, Had lots of fun using Pull on distant downed teammates, Shield Polarizing one target at a time, and troll throwing Glaive in to a Bullet Attracted boss. Good times. The changes in her kit made her a lot more viable in situation though, and with that made her a lot more useful outside teammate pulling with Pull and enemy crushing with Crush.
With Pull, you can pull a large range of enemies in your direction, distance varies with rank and Range mods, while the range is screen-wide. Sure, you can be like me and stack Power Strength and Range and Pull-kill everything in view, but there's more too it than that. Aside from the long ragdolling , it also 'knocksdown' enemies. The different between a good pull and a bad pull all depends on what you pull and how you utilize it. You can run away from the objection and pull enemies away from it, you can pull enemies to you, ragdolling them while you revive a teammate, you can pull a Napalm or two then run before they recover. Either way you use it, there's also a consequence to it, as pulling enemies over to you may also put you and your team in danger if you weren't already prepared to deal with them when they stand, and may even take a shoverwave to the face from a Heavy Gunner or Napalm. Regardless though, it's knockdown and ragdolling is good enough to use as an escape or a chance to deal damage.
Shield Polarize is simply give or take, really. It recovers your and your allies' shields, and depeletes enemy shields. How does this sound useful? Well I'll tell you. See those high level enemies that laugh in your face becase your bullets bounce off your shields? Don't have the right element to shred their shields? Just Shield Polarize and shred those vulnerable fools to bits. Ally shields down and taking damage to their health? Just use Shield Polarize and they're fine. Objective taking some damage with no sheilds? Shield Polarize. Yes, it replenishes Objective shields as well. Shields are just as important as health. This skill can save time waiting for shields to regenerate, as it also helps save ammo towards taking down enemy shields. At the same time, this is ALSO what Vay Hek hated about the bombs moving so fast from his ships. Yeah, this baby was also a reason why those bombs got away, Vay Hek. You wanted something that drain shields, you should have tried for something more Disruptor-like.
When Derf Anyo finds out why his subordinates just lit him up with lasers, he'll find out that it wasn't some Hit Me sign on his back, but a Hit Me bubble around his body. Fragile frames and Shotgun users will love you for this, and unfortunately Glaive users shed tears these days. This skill basically foruces all projectiles on the target with the bubble around it. Enemies and allies alike will turn the chosen foe in to swiss cheese in no time. This is great for redirecting fire from your team mates and objectives as well. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for when Infested runs up and melees the crap of you or the objective, but otherwise it's Grade-A anywhere else. This is great for team DPS, and will save you a lot of ammo. I'm looking at you guys who tries to snipe enemies with a Shotgun. You're not Emile from Halo: Reach.
Annnnd finaly, Crush. Step 1 - Lift arm to levitate enemies. Step 2 - Life other arm for Step 3. Step 3, - Aim hands at each other then mash them together. Result - Enemies are compacted as their limbs implode inside them. Awesome right? Even a toddler can do it. Large range full 360 degree skill that holds enemies in place for a few seconds, and deals a large amount of damage. It useful in all modes in terms of utility, but not so much in damage, It is great early game, but mid and late game the damage will fall off. The time spent not taking damage and holding them in the air is great, but that's pretty much it. Sure, it'd be better if they were knocked down after you drop what should be lifeless imploded bodies, but as soon as you drop them, they immediately stand up and fight, almost as though that X-Ray did nothing to their internal insides whatsoever. Even so, it's like a Vauban's Bastille, except larger, lasts only 3 seconds, and deals damage.
TL;DR ==
Banshee:
- Sonic Boom is great for damage, escape, and dealing damage with taking anything.
- Sonar is great for DPS and converving ammo.
- Silence is terrific for stealth play and eliminating enemies with any gun without alarming the others.
- Sound Quake can allow team to dish damage without taking any due to chain Stagger.
- All her moves start with S.
Excalibur:
- Radial Blind blinds, and thus eliminates any damage taking and allows everyone to utilize the 4x damage while enemies helplessly takes the beating.
Frost:
- Snowglobe protects the team from damage while being able to deal damage inside, and slows enemies inside it.
Loki:
- Decoy is totally real and spite being a hologram is totally real and focus all fire on it.
- Radial Disarm makes enemies tear off their shirts and charge in to battle with Provas.
Mag:
- Pull is the greatest Force move after Force Choke and makes enemies ragdoll to the extreme and knocks them down.
- Shield Polarize takes from the rich and gives to the poor.
- Bullet Attract is the Hit Me sign of whatever time Warframe takes place and forces all projectiles to abide to it.
- Crush is the one X-ray with no Internal Close-Ups, works well as a 3 second stun and totally has no knockdown.
Part 2 will be made later.. Tired of typing. -3-
