surely the in-game descriptions are correct in the wiki?
It says neural sensors are from infested, and neurodes from grineer, while they look exactly the other way around.

U are not the first to notice it, probably not last. Maybe this time something will happen with this...
It used to be proper (Neurodes coming from Infested), then DE decided to swap the descriptions around for no reason.
Why they just didn't swap the drops (Neural Sensors on Earth, Neurodes on Jupiter, descriptions unchanged), I don't know...
And bear in mind this was before the Corpus took over Jupiter.
It's more complex than that:
In the start, their descriptions were opposite (so the description matched the looks). However, there was the "logical" problem that they were used in foundry creations the opposite way: Grineer weapons using Neurodes (then described as infested goo), while Infested stuff, like Mire, uses (described as Grineer devices).
So, to solve the "logic" problem, they swapped the descriptions. So now the descriptions and their foundry-uses make sense... but now the pictures don't make any sense instead *sigh*
To once and for all solve this issue, they should just swap the pictures too. Then I don't think much need to be done after that (besides maybe letting the infested Neural Sensors to be a drop on Eris)
oops, missed a word there:
"like Mire, uses Neural Sensors"
Realistically to fix the problem they'd need to do a full swap.
Switch the names, switch the pictures and keep the swapped descriptions as they are. Otherwise they'd have to go through and swap which resource every item needs to be built with.
So that a Neural sensor is a mechanical looking item, dropped by grineer and used to make grineer items and a Neurode is a biological looking item, dropped by infested used to make infested items.
