  • Okay, so I've barely touched my Trinity ever since I got her, and I'm considering building her towards 2 potential builds;

    1. A build that focuses on Link ; and

    2. A build that focuses on Energy Vampire

    This builds are taking into account mods that I have on my person, thus I don't have access to Transient Fortitude or any other mod that you guys may suggest to me,

    What do you guys think? What can be changed and what can stay?

    • ok well let me tell you that your build is good but i would just use Redirection insted of Vigor and get rid of Rapid Resilience and put on Vampire Leech that way you can do both a link build and a ev build and you will never run out of energy or shields. The reason you dont need Rapid Resilience is becasuse link reflects your status to the enemy you are linked with so that mod is just usles.

    • Oh and you may also want to drop Flow because with EV you will get overshilds when you are maxed on energy so in that spot put Range

      I see some people saying this, but why? Why not just kill the target as soon as you vamp him, and get an instant energy boost? What's the benefit of waiting for the energy you get from the pulses?

    • Minimizing the duration of EV (Trans Fort and Fleeting Exp) causes the pulses to be generated much faster.

      EV essentially works as "4 Pulses in X Seconds", space evenly.

      So, what gives off energy faster; 4 pulses in 8 seconds, or 4 pulses in 2 seconds?

      And it's really meant for team play, given that there's going to be an energy-heavy frame depending on your squad composition.

      Tried a low strength, high duration build a little after writing this. Turns out, strength affects the amount of energy you recieve far, far more than duration does.

      Duration DOES however affect how quickly your squad gets the energy. In the event you can't easily kill the enemy targeted for Vampire in late-game, getting the energy faster for overshields or abilities to survive upon or stall for time may be more useful than wasting the squad's attention and ammo on that level 297 butcher with millions of armor. Negative duration is to ensure you get the energy faster, and it will help out a lot in late-game play, as opposed to "Just hit 2 and shoot him on a Blessing Link build"

    • You need the lowest possible Duration on an EV Trinity to make sure you get all or most energy pulses from EV. A slow EV won't use all of its pulses because enemies die too fast - even if you start off with Well of Life.

      In addition, a 'fast EV' can be recast quicker and especially later in the game, fast casting becomes essential to keep overshields up at all times. It also allows you to get more overshields stacked in a shorter period of time, it allows the rest of the team to get more energy/sec and thus continue their ability spam at all times.

      Range 235% or 190% at the bare minimum is recommended because this will ensure your EV's hit all team mates even if they are a bit out of the way.

      Concerning Vampire Leech there is another balancing act going on with EV Trinity - Efficiency versus Power Strength which you balance out by varying Blind Rage ranks. You would think that max efficiency is useless on EV Trinity, but it's not. Overshields on Trinity herself are affected by the amount of energy that needs to refilled after casting EV. A cheaper EV will create larger Overshields per cast. Efficiency at 140% is a sweet spot and balances out nicely as per the screenshot of the Lone Tenno above.

      The one thing I would change here is to add Natural Talent for Streamline and take out Blind Rage for Intensify. Faster cast speeds become important especially later as you want to use Well of Life > EV more often. Even a very short Well of Life is a powerful tool to keep that EV going, and it also pulses quicker doing more damage. Ideal to lift up a Gunner and leech it dry. When you do this, you also get to swap out Regeneration for something like Physique to add a nice bit of health pool for the later waves, which in turn increases the usefulness of Well of Life.

    • "If the target dies while Energy Vampire is in effect, all remaining energy will be released at once (e.g., for an Energy Vampire that restores a total of 100 energy over 9 seconds, killing the target with 6 seconds remaining on the UI timer will cause the last pulse to restore 100 × (6 ÷ 9) = 66.67 energy)" from the wiki here, so your arguement(that enemies die too fast) is invalid

      As for str affecting amount of energy gain, that is true but all you really need is at least 30%-50% more str to give an ample amount of energy per 1.6sec of ev casts.

      In addition: who doesn't love the good ol' well of life > energy vampire combo

    • Also not to really sound like a dick but, trinity is pretty well versed on how she should be played and since they only added sheilds by a little her stats aren't different enough to warrant a huge change. It's not like Volt to Volt prime and having an insane energy pool and can use quick thinking or something.
