These twin barrels of destruction are the signature pistols of the Kuva Guardians.

The Twin Rogga are dual Grineer pistols introduced in Update 19.0 (2016-11-11), and are the Kuva Guardian's sidearm of choice. These shotgun pistols deal heavy damage with low spread complimented by its very high status chance, but are hampered by their low magazine size and heavy damage falloff.

Characteristics[]

  • This weapon deals primarily DmgPunctureSmall64 Puncture damage.
  • Has a Madurai Pol and a Naramon Pol polarities.

Advantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

  • Second highest base damage of all shotgun-type secondaries, behind alt-fire EuphonaPrime Euphona Prime, and highest base damage of all dual secondaries.
  • Very high overall status chance.
  • Innate multishot of 15 pellets. Highest pellet count of all shotgun-type secondaries.
  • Tight spread, useful for single targets.
  • Efficient ammo economy.
  • Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
    • Very high total damage (705)
    • High average number of procs per shot (0.99)
    • Very high average number of crits per shot (1.5)
    • Above average disposition (●●●●○ (1.30x))

Disadvantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

  • Has linear damage falloff from 100% to 21.28% from 10m to 20m target distance (distances are affected by Projectile Speed).
  • Inefficient against groups, unless using Punch Through mods.
  • Extremely low magazine size of just two rounds; requires frequent reloading.
  • Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
    • Very low active falloff slope (12.7m/%)
    • Low crit chance (10.00%)
    • Very low maximum falloff distance (20.0 m)
    • Very low magazine (2)
    • Low fire rate (2.500 attacks/sec)

Tips[]

  • Using both Mod TT 20px Quickdraw and Mod TT 20px Stunning Speed can shorten the frequent reloads.
  • With rank 5 Mod TT 20px Slip Magazine and at least rank 3 Mod TT 20px Tainted Clip, the magazine size can be increased to 4.
    • With a rank 10 Mod TT 20px Primed Slip Magazine, a rank 1 Tainted Clip or Mod TT 20px Ice Storm can be used for the same result.
    • With Slip Magazine, Tainted Clip and Ice Storm all at max rank, a magazine of 5 can be reached. Primed Slip Magazine will not further increase magazine size, but allows Tainted Clip to be only rank 2, minimizing the reload speed penalty.
  • Mod TT 20px Barrel Diffusion can increase the number of pellets to 33, while adding Mod TT 20px Lethal Torrent increases pellet count to 42. This, combined with its high status chance, allows for a very high number of procs per shot.
  • The frequent reloading provides constant chances of triggering ArcaneAwakening Arcane Awakening.
  • The Helminth skill Energized Munitions or Arcane Pistoleer are extremely effective in enhancing this weapon.

Trivia[]

  • The Twin Rogga are modeled off blunderbuss pistols, also known as "Dragoons". Blunderbusses were an early form of shotgun notorious for firing whatever could fit inside their barrels.
  • The gold flints suggest that these guns integrate Orokin technology (similar to the Seer Seer). In fact, they're referred to in the concept art as "Orokin Flint Artifacts.

Patch History[]

Update 32.0 (2022-09-07)

Ammo Changes

We understand the power fantasy of these weapons is very popular for some, so our first approach was to keep them powerful, but limit how often they can be used by making changes to ammo pick-up.

Ammo Pickup Overrides
The following weapons now have ammo pickup overrides, meaning they gain less from picking up ammo. This mostly applies to AoE weapons, in hopes that players will become more deliberate with their aim to make the most of their Ammo pools. The following lists the specific ammo pick up overrides per weapon category.

Update 27.2 (2020-03-05)

Greater than 100% Status having meaning:

Shotguns have a unique Role here based on a very patch-work history with how they interact with Status Chance. A Shotgun that shoots 99% Status Chance would give you 35% (roughly) status per pellet. 100% Status Gives you 100% Status per pellet. This huge jump in performance happens with just a 1% gain - why? Well, to answer that we have to look at our choice to make what the UI conveys reality. It would feel broken to shoot a Shotgun with 100% Status and not see a perfect spread of Effects. In reality, to make Status consistent we have to treat Shotguns as a special case.

Shotguns as a special case means we have buffed the Status Chance of all Shotguns by x3 or greater. The UI now behaves to show the reality that you are determining Status Chance per pellet.

  • (Undocumented) Status chance per projectile increased from 2.2% to 6.6%.

Update 22.12 (2018-02-09)

  • Mastery Rank increased from 8 to 9.
  • Damage increased from 40 to 47 (per pellet).
  • Status chance increased from 15% to 33%.

Update 21.0 (2017-06-29)

  • Damage per pellet increased from 20 to 40.
  • Damage fall off added starting from 10m and ending at 20 with a minimum damage of 10.
  • Mastery Rank 8 required.
  • Ammo type changed from Shotgun Ammo to Pistol Ammo. (Undocumented)

Update 19.0 (2016-11-11)

  • Introduced.
