Let's talk about balance. As I'm sure we can all agree, the Warframes in their current forms are not equally useful. The way I see Warframe, balance is an ongoing goal in development, and I assume that agenda extends to the Warframes. Regarding balancing the Warframes for "end game", I'd like to address 3 things:
- 1. Is there an intention or desire among the developers to do this? Why or why not?
- 2. Do you, the players, want to see this happen? Why or why not?
- 3. What, if anything, needs to be done in order to equalize the Warframes in an "end game" setting? I'd really like to hear any ideas you have about Warframe abilities, potential buffs/nerfs, etc.
However, before I get into any of that, I'd like to first define the nebulous term that is "end game":
In my mind, end game refers to the absolute hardest gameplay in Warframe. In a (only slightly) less subjective sense, it is any gameplay in which the enemies have enough armor/survivability/attack power to render all but the most powerful Warframe attacks and weapons nearly useless.
Personally, I'd love to see the Warframes balanced for end game. It's painfully obvious that the difficulty of end game effectively eliminates many play-styles as viable strategies, and the resulting lack of variety, in my opinion, makes the game dramatically less fun (particularly for players who enjoy playing Warframes that aren't "end game material"). As a player who enjoys a wide selection of play-styles, the ability to choose what and how to play is very important to me, as I'm sure it is for many others. So why should Frost, Nyx, Vauban, Nova, etc. get to hog all the fun? Why not show the OG ninjas like Mag some love?
Let me know what you think! (Just try to steer clear of discussing weapons; remember that this is strictly about the Warframes)
