I'm sure veteran Volt players are aware of this, but the +50% Electricity damage is not the only damage buff Electric Shield provides for compatible weapons.
Before I get into that, let me address a couple of things. The electricity damage bonus is additive to your weapon's base damage, similar to equipping a +50% electricity damage mod. Unlike Saryn's Contagion, this bonus damage does not interact with equipped elemental mods. If you have +90% toxin damage equipped, you will inflict +90% toxin damage and +50% electricity damage when shooting through the shield, not +140% corrosive damage.
Now, weapons that gain +50% electricity damage when fired through the shield also receive a 200% critical damage multiplier. Simply put, the critical damage of your weapon will double. Here are some examples against a charger:
Considering the Lanka's base 250 charge damage and 1.5x critical damage multiplier with +105% Serration, +27% Rifle Amp, +120% Vital Sense, and +120% gas damage (+75% damage vs. chargers), here's how the displayed values are calculated:
250 x ( 1 + 1.05 + 0.27 ) x ( 1 + 1.75 x 1.2 ) x 1.5 x ( 1 + 1.2 ) = 5933 critical damage.
250 x ( 1 + 1.05 + 0.27 ) x ( 1 + 1.75 x 1.2 + 0.5 ) x 1.5 x ( 1 + 1.2 ) x 2 = 13780 Electric Shield critical damage.
EDIT: From a recent hotfix, Electric Shield no longer generates additional shots from energy weapons or the Drakgoon with increased punch through. However, the weapon types I had listed before (bows, thrown weapons, and other projectile weapons) that were not receiving the damage bonuses are now compatible with Electric Shield.
Firing through multiple shields will no longer cause the previously cast shield to block outgoing shots. Instead, each shield will cause the damage bonuses to stack. Using the same Lanka from the previous calculations against Chargers, here are some observations I made:
1 shield: 250 x ( 1 + 1.05 + 0.27 ) x ( 1 + 1.75 x 1.2 + 0.5 ) x 1.5 x ( 1 + 1.2 ) x 2 = 13780 Electric Shield critical damage.
2 shields: 250 x ( 1 + 1.05 + 0.27 ) x ( 1 + 1.75 x 1.2 + 1 ) x 1.5 x ( 1 + 1.2 ) x 4 = 31389 Electric Shield critical damage.
3 shields: 250 x ( 1 + 1.05 + 0.27 ) x ( 1 + 1.75 x 1.2 + 1.5 ) x 1.5 x ( 1 + 1.2 ) x 8 = 70435 Electric Shield critical damage.
The electricity damage bonuses are summed, whereas the critical damage bonuses are multiplied.
