Forged in the fires of rebel struggle, this shotgun is a force for liberation.

The Vaykor Hek is a Hek Hek variant available only from Steel Meridian. Boasting double the magazine capacity of the base variant, a faster rate of fire, and an increased critical chance, the Vaykor Hek also comes with an innate Justice effect. It does, however, take slightly longer to reload than the base variant.

Characteristics[]

Advantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

  • Very high overall status chance.
  • Tied with normal Hek Hek and Corinth Corinth for the second-narrowest pellet spread of all shotguns, behind Exergis Exergis.
  • Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
    • Above average crit chance (25.00%)
    • High total damage (525)
    • Above average average number of procs per shot (0.74)
    • Very high average number of crits per shot (1.75)

Disadvantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

  • Has linear damage falloff from 100% to 26.67% from 10m to 25m target distance (distances are affected by Projectile Speed).
  • High recoil.
  • Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
    • Very low active falloff slope (20.5m/%)
    • Very low maximum falloff distance (25.0 m)
    • Below average reload speed (2.25 s)
    • Low magazine (8)
    • Below average fire rate (3.000 attacks/sec)
    • Below average ammo max (120)
    • Low status chance (10.70%)

Comparisons:

Acquisition[]

  • The Vaykor Hek can be acquired by reaching the Rank of General with Steel Meridian, and spending ReputationLarge 125,000 to purchase. As with all Syndicate Weapons, the Vaykor Hek cannot be chosen as the free offering upon ranking up to General rank.
  • Syndicate weapons can also be acquired via Trading, but only for unranked copies without Forma and Orokin Catalyst installed.
  • Players must have a Mastery Rank of at least 12 to acquire the Vaykor Hek, either through trading or through the Syndicates themselves.

Notes[]

Tips[]

  • The Vaykor Hek has over double the critical potential of the normal Hek Hek. This, combined with more rounds per magazine and a higher fire rate, means the Vaykor variant is more viable for a critical oriented build, and more powerful overall even with Hek's extra multishot afforded by Mod TT 20px Scattered Justice.

Patch History[]

Update 32.0 (2022-09-07)

Ammo Changes

We understand the power fantasy of these weapons is very popular for some, so our first approach was to keep them powerful, but limit how often they can be used by making changes to ammo pick-up.

Ammo Pickup Overrides
The following weapons now have ammo pickup overrides, meaning they gain less from picking up ammo. This mostly applies to AoE weapons, in hopes that players will become more deliberate with their aim to make the most of their Ammo pools. The following lists the specific ammo pick up overrides per weapon category.

Update 27.2 (2020-03-05)

Greater than 100% Status having meaning:

Shotguns have a unique Role here based on a very patch-work history with how they interact with Status Chance. A Shotgun that shoots 99% Status Chance would give you 35% (roughly) status per pellet. 100% Status Gives you 100% Status per pellet. This huge jump in performance happens with just a 1% gain - why? Well, to answer that we have to look at our choice to make what the UI conveys reality. It would feel broken to shoot a Shotgun with 100% Status and not see a perfect spread of Effects. In reality, to make Status consistent we have to treat Shotguns as a special case.

Shotguns as a special case means we have buffed the Status Chance of all Shotguns by x3 or greater. The UI now behaves to show the reality that you are determining Status Chance per pellet.

  • (Undocumented) Status chance increased from 3.5714285714286% to 10.714285714286%.

Update 17.3 (2015-09-02)

  • Introduced.
