The unruly Wukong wreaks havoc in the System with his immortal trickery and savage beatings, tipping the balance in his favor and his opponents off their feet.

Wukong descended on September 29th, 2015 for the Chinese build, then on November 25th, 2015 for the global build.

Wukong's blueprint and components can be researched through the Tenno Lab of the Clan Dojo. Both research and crafting require numerous Nitain Extracts, obtained almost exclusively from Alerts.

  • Assuming every member of a maximum capacity clan completes all four daily Nitain Extract Alerts, the minimum time required to collect the necessary extracts is ~1.78 days regardless of Clan Tier.
    • Alternatively, for a single player in a Ghost clan, the minimum time required is 4.25 days.
    • Although Reactor Sabotage caches and Sorties both have chances to reward Nitain Extracts (and thus, cut down on time), they should not be wholly relied on due to the low chance of Nitain being rewarded.

TriviaEdit

  • Wukong is named after Sun Wukong, (also known as the Monkey King), one of the main characters in the highly influential classic Chinese story Journey to the West. The majority of the Warframe's power set is based upon the Monkey King's lore.
    • The variable-size staff that Wukong summons upon using Primal Fury (and to a lesser extent, Iron Jab) is based off the Ruyi Jingu Bang, the Monkey King's signature weapon capable of changing its size at whim. It was one of several treasures bestowed upon the Monkey King after he defeated the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas.
    • Cloud Walker is a reference to the JIngdouyun (which translates to "Rolling Cloud"), a skill learned from his master when he was young.
  • Wukong is the second of three Warframes that were initially introduced as timed exclusives to Warframe China, the others being Excalibur Umbra Prime and Nezha.

  • Wukong summons and extends his Iron Staff up to 5 / 6 / 8 / 10 meters in the direction of the HUD's targeting reticle, inflicting 500 / 600 / 700 / 800 Impact b Impact damage to a single enemy along its path. The damaged enemy is forcefully ragdolled, and enemies within 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 meters of Iron Jab's point of impact suffer a knockdown.
    • Base damage is affected by Power Strength.
    • Iron Jab is also affected by equipped melee mods including:
      • Base damage (e.g., Steel Charge), elemental damage, and Impact b Impact damage mods (e.g., Primed Heavy Trauma).
      • Iron Jab's base damage uses the following expression when accounting for Power Strength: Modified Base Damage = Base Damage × (1 + Base Damage Bonus) × (1 + Power Strength). As an example, with a maxed Steel Charge, Pressure Point, and Intensify, a rank-3 Iron Jab will have 800 × 2.8 × 1.3 = 2912 base damage.
      • Iron Jab is not affected by the equipped melee weapon's stats or other melee mods including weapon augments (e.g., Justice Blades), class-specific mods (e.g., Covert Lethality), or stat-modifying skins (e.g., Manticore).
    • Iron Jab is not affected by the Melee Combo Counter; however, every instance of damage adds to the counter.
    • Impact radius is affected by Power Range, while the staff range is not.
  • Iron Jab does not require an enemy target to be cast.
  • Enemies affected by Iron Jab are temporarily highlighted.

Iron Vault is a Warframe Augment Mod for Wukong. Aiming Iron Jab at the ground will launch Wukong into the air, and any Slam Attack performed will gain additional range and damage.

  • Equipping Blast b Blast damage on Wukong's melee weapon will increase Iron Jab's force of impact immensely (i.e., sends enemies flying across the map) even if the damage is nonlethal.
  • The impact radius doesn't always work, sometimes affecting only the initial target.

    • Upon losing all of his health, Wukong is healed up to 45% / 50% / 65% / 75% of his maximum health and gains invulnerability for 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 seconds. As a consequence, Wukong loses 50% / 40% / 30% / 25% of his current energy.
      • Health restoration and energy reduction are not affected by Power Strength.
      • The amount of health restored diminishes with each subsequent death while Defy is active. As an example, if Wukong has his health reduced to zero a total of three times while Defy is active, a rank-3 Defy will restore 0.751 = 75%, 0.752 = ~56%, and 0.753 = ~42% of his maximum health for each respective death.
        • The subsequent health reduction applies to the current uninterrupted active toggle of Defy. Toggling off the ability and then reactivating it will refresh the health restoration to its maximum percentage.
      • The energy reduction applies to Wukong's current energy at the time his health is depleted. As an example, if Wukong has 100 energy when his health reaches zero while Defy is active, a rank-3 Defy will reduce his current energy to 100 × (1 - 0.25) = 75.
        • The energy reduction does not apply to Wukong's total energy capacity. If Wukong at max rank has a total energy capacity of 300 with a maxed Flow, Defy will not alter that capacity—only Wukong's current supply of energy is affected.
      • Invulnerability duration is affected by Power Duration.
    • Defy drains 5 energy per second while active and will remain active until Wukong's energy is depleted, or the ability is deactivated by pressing the ability key again (default 2 ).

    • Wukong disappears into a cloud and hides himself from enemy view for 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 seconds. In this form, Wukong is invulnerable and gains the ability to move freely in empty space including vertical movement. While Cloud Walker is active, one point of energy is drained for every 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 meters traveled. Cloud Walker will end if Wukong runs out of energy, if the ability duration ends, or if deactivated by pressing the ability key again (default 3 ). Upon activation and deactivation, enemies within 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 meters of Wukong are temporarily stunned.
      • Duration is affected by Power Duration.
      • Stun radius is affected by Power Range.
      • Distance per energy is affected by Power Efficiency.
      • Stunned enemies are open to melee finishers (default E ).
      • Unalerted enemies staggered by Cloud Walker remain unalerted during the stagger animation, and thus can engage Stealth Kill Affinity Bonuses when killed.
      • The distance traveled for every point of energy uses the following expression when accounting for Power Efficiency: Modified Distance Per Energy = Distance Per Energy ÷ (2 − Power Efficiency). With a maxed Streamline, a rank-3 Cloud Walker will drain one point of energy for every 2.5 ÷ 0.7 = ~3.57 meters traveled.
      • Energy Siphon is not deactivated while Cloud Walker is active; however, Wukong is not immune to energy drain from Energy Leech Eximus auras.
      • While Wukong is invulnerable in Cloud Walker, his Companion is still susceptible to damage from explosions.
    • While Cloud Walker is active, Wukong has reduced movement speed and is unable to attack enemies, activate other powers, and interact with environmental objects and pickups. Defy and Primal Fury can be deactivated while in Cloud Walker.
    • Cloud Walker confers immunity to status effects when passing through Grineer and Corpus energy defenses like Sensor Bars and Laser Barriers respectively. However, passing through said defenses in Spy Data Vaults will still activate the Vault's alarms.
      • The area stagger upon exiting or entering Cloud Walker will alarm any Security Cameras within range, triggering a Data Vault alarm.

    • An equipped Sentinel with Vacuum will still collect nearby items and hold onto them for you to collect when Cloud Walker ends, similar to Hydroid's Undertow.

    • Wukong equips his legendary Iron Staff, a melee weapon whose reach lengthens by an additional 2% / 5% / 10% / 20% with each strike up to a maximum melee range bonus of 200%. Normal attacks inflict 100 / 125 / 200 / 250 base damage, and wall attacks inflict 167 / 208 / 333 / 417 base damage. Slide attacks inflict 214 / 267.5 / 428 / 535 base damage. Aerial attacks and slam attacks inflict 200 / 250 / 400 / 500 base damage, and slam attacks inflict an additional 150 Impact b Impact damage with a 10% status chance within 3 meters. Attacks have a 200% critical damage multiplier with a 25% critical chance and a 25% status chance. Finally, the Iron Staff has 60% blocking effectiveness.
      • Base damage is distributed between 85% Impact b Impact damage and 15%, Puncture b Puncture damage.
      • Base damage is affected by Power Strength and the Melee Combo Counter.
      • Primal Fury is also affected by equipped melee mods including:
      • Radial damage from slam attacks diminishes with distance, does not have a critical chance, is not affected by the Melee Combo Counter, and will stagger enemies within range.
      • Ground finishers inflict 300% of the total modified damage from normal attacks. Prompted melee finishers inflict 2400% of the total modified damage from normal attacks as Finisher damage.
        • The damage composition of a ground finisher is the same as a modified normal attack.
        • The finisher multipliers for both attacks are affected by Finishing Touch.
      • Each attack adds to the Melee Combo Counter; however, radial damage from slam attacks does not.
      • Melee range bonus per strike is affected by Power Range, while the maximum melee range bonus is not.
      • Each hit on the Melee Combo Counter corresponds to the number of additive stacks from the melee range bonus (e.g., with five hits on the counter and a maxed Stretch, a rank-3 Primal Fury will have a melee range bonus of 0.20 × 5 × 1.45 = 145%). The melee range bonus will reset when the Melee Combo Counter resets.
        • The melee range bonus stacks additively with melee range mods (e.g., with a maxed Reach equipped on Wukong's melee weapon, five hits on the counter, and a maxed Stretch, a rank-3 Primal Fury will have an additional 0.20 × 5 × 1.45 + 0.6 = 205% melee range).
      • Wukong is unable to use any other weapon while Primal Fury is active but can use all other abilities.
    • Primal Fury drains 3 energy per second while active and will remain active until Wukong's energy is depleted, or the ability is deactivated by pressing the ability key again (default 4 ).
    • While Primal Fury is active, blocking will reduce incoming frontal damage by 60%.
    • Primal Fury comes installed with its own unique stance. Additional combos will be unlocked as Primal Fury increases in rank.

    Primal Rage is a Warframe Augment Mod for Wukong that increases the Critical Chance of Primal Fury with every kill, up to a maximum of 100%. The additional critical chance gradually falls off every second.
