they are supposed to send death squads after you when they hit negatives. thats just the machanics of how syndicates work.
i could give you a long drawn out explinations about an unrealistic way of keeping out of negatives...but the easiest thing to do is either join 3 on left or 3 on the right so you can easily keep the number down to 3 peole instead of 4. also gaining friends to run with since safty in numbers and all that jazz.
@neithanDiniem
please give me a link/source. because ive been talking about an upgrade (or at least its own actual units) for a while.
If I'm following correctly, it's not an upgrade to the units - it's the new "Nemesis" system that is in development. The way I understand the mechanic, killing a set target for your syndicate will give syndicate rep, but failing to kill it will take rep away and the target will get stronger. The system will also have something to do with your alignment and will probably be accessed behind the "non-infested" door in the orbiter.
Hopefully DE will have more details soon. However, if the death squads themselves are being upgraded, I'm certainly all for it, I just haven't heard anything about it myself.
If DE puts alignment stuff behind the only remaining door in the Orbiter, DE is again going to have to redesign the orbiter so as to give room for the rest of it. As it stands now the orbiter we have only makes up 5% of the total mass of the ship, hardly seems likely that there wouldnt be more rooms and stuff to it.
As for the death squads, likely my guess is DE will add a third negative tier to the syndicates. If you look at the reputation meter now there is in fact room for a third level below the current second negative tier that is unused. Maybe at that point is when the assassination squad comes for you that uses the nemesis system.
If you pick your syndicate right, only 2 will be angry, everybody who says you should pick 3 seems to forget that you also earn 50% for an allied syndicate (which you WONT do missions for or equip sigils from) This means only 2 are angered, which leaves 2 others, of which 1 will take 50% of one of your syndicates, but it will also add 50% to the other open syndicate.
this way only 2 are mad and it is possible to get gear from 4 syndicates (although very slowly for 2 out of 4, which is the main drawback of this system)
for instance: red veil + loka can go together, this does mean you need to earn more red veil standing then loka standing but it does work. This is because new loka takes -50% on steel meridian, which red veil gives +50%. Red veil doesn't take any from perrin sequence(new loka allies) or new loka.

Yeah, I think the last door will probably open to a corridor to access the rest of the ship, including the alignment stuff. It will mess with the symmetry of it all, but it seems like the only logical solution.

This would only give you 4 if you max two of them, say suda and arbiters, then dont touch them at all while you level Steel, which gives you Veil. If you swap between a few syndicates to get choice rewards, youd probably end up with Veil remaining in the red, hence why "3."
I run 4 at the moment. The whole left side and then Red Veil.
Maxed Suda and Arbiters first, that was easy enough. It tanked Red Veil into bottom rep. Then I took Steel up to max, which took Red Veil up with it, without affecting Suda or Arbiters. Then I kept putting points into Steel, which took Red Veil up to max.
Now, if I want something from Steel or Red Veil, I put on the Steel sigil and run Steel missions only. If I want something from Suda or Arbiters, I run Suda missions with Suda sigil, but also run Steel missions to offset the negative rep to Red Veil from running Suda - and maybe run 5-6k of daily syndicate standing with Steel sigil as well.
It means Red Veil gets quite a bit of wasted rep and it's not efficient, but my options are wider. It also means I can never run Arbiters or Red Veil missions, and can't wear their sigils (which I think are the best looking) whilst I have any daily rep left.
Overall, I regret doing it this way, but I invested too much to turn back now and I'm too stubborn. Picking left 3 or right 3 only is so much easier, more efficient and promotes cooperative play with your clan/friends and trading for missing items.

It has been over a year and a half, with the progression of the game, do you still feel the same way as your comments above?
