I pretty much use it on all my frames thus far (save Trinity due to Energy Vampire), and have seen no reason against using it.

it really depends on the length of the mission youre going into.
If youre doing Ext or Cap, siphon isnt going to do shit since youre going to gun down everything you see.
Consider taking siphon on solo missions or def/m.def or a group without a trinity.
Normally i use ammo auras because i dont like mutation mods
energy siphons? pfftt~~ that was yesterdays problem. #zenurik4lyfe 4 energy/sec~~
yes you are. every normal person would just put animal instinct on his sentinel or kubrow and that literally will give you the same outcome plus the extra loot radar.
I think energy siphon is a noob aura. 0.6 nrg per sec is useless if you compare it with trinity ev, nrg restores, or zenurik passive. Same thing for rejuvenation rifle amp steel charge physique and many more they are all useless.
Only aura that is worth using is Corrosive Projection (cause everyone including sentinels kubrows in the squad will benefit killing faster) and maybe enemy radar (but you got the exilus mod enemy sense for that which is the same)
I run Corrosive Projection aura and enemy sense exilus on EVERY frame
Energy Siphon is my go to Aura, and has been since I got it over two years ago. It's not essential any more once you've farmed enough focus for the Zenurik passive, but that has a charge up time before you use it and prevents you using other schools (such as the brilliant Naramon).
Energy Siphon simply makes you less reliant on energy orbs, specific warframes, or late game passives. Basically I use it because it makes me self sufficient, and helps every team member equally.
For a sortie I might switch for Corrosive Projection, but it's not as widely applicable.
I also mostly solo and I have gone back and forth with auras. Right now I use Rejuvenation for most normal game content, since passive health regen is never not useful. I use Zenurik as my focus school, so Energy Siphon would be redundant for me. Since you can't trigger your focus passives until 2-3 minutes into the mission, starting a mission can be rough, especially if things go sideways early on.
To help mitigate this, and for general utility, I use a Sahasa Kubrow. Sahasas will periodically dig up things that their master currently needs - like energy orbs. In fact, by the time I start a mission, she'll have already dug up 2-3 energy orbs (she does it while I'm on the loading screen). Just those 2-3 orbs usually provide me with enough extra energy to last until my focus ability is ready.
Energy is easy to gain nowadays. Energy restores and Zenurik polatity floods you with energy.
I still use Energy Sifon a lot, but for serious missions I prefer Corrosive Projection. Steel Charge, on the other hand, gives a lot of capacity, helps a lot on some frames. Rejuvination is not that good, but still helps keeping you topped.
Wow, this is an old thread.
Anyhow, I tend to use Corrosive Projection, Rejuvenation, or Energy Siphon on all my frames, depending on their needs. On bulky frames besides Inaros or Valkyr, I tend to go for Rejuvenation, since Rage will provide the needed energy, and in some cases, Rejuventation will be able to negate any damage being dealt because of the high damage resistance. On more caster-oriented frames, I'll go with Corrosive Projection against Grineer or Void to deal with the high armor values, and against Infested or Corpus I'll go with Energy Siphon, just to help me deal a tiny bit better with unexpected Nullifiers, modular Corpus, or Ancient Disruptors (Bursa armor be damned, I just want my energy!). While Zenurik does overshadow Energy Siphon in a big way, Energy Siphon is still quite useful before Zenurik charges up, or when I want to use Naramon because I'm using a particularly vulnerable frame (here's looking at you, Banshee). I will use Steel Charge on frames if that's their base polarity, but I find Madurai auras to be pretty uninspiring, and usually forma it to something else as fast as possible.

Ivara... Prowl cancles the mod
Hildryn. Best reason not to use Energy Siphon :)
